First Republic Bank is looking for a Network Engineer within the Core Network Engineering team for planning, building, deploying, maintaining, and advanced troubleshooting of FRB’s network and network security infrastructure and services. You are highly technical, motivated, passionate, an emerging technology leader to take on day-to-day deliverables for our Data Center Network Services. The Network Engineer roles requires subject matter knowledge across network and security-based technologies, services, and components.
What you’ll do as a Network Engineer:
- Responsible for project implementation, day-to-day deliverables, maintenance, and advanced troubleshooting of the network and network security infrastructure.
- Implement and Support of Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco IDS/IPS, and other network security platforms
- Demonstrate expertise on Cisco routers and switches
- Work in collaboration with the infrastructure team members, the role will lead the network routing & switching design and architecture [LAN, WAN, Internet, IPsec tunnels, VPN services]
- Drive and evolve network and firewall automation initiatives
- Responsible to Design, engineer, build and support all facets of Data Center Networks, Cloud Network deployments and operations and the Network and Network Security infrastructure
- Support firewall upgrades, troubleshooting, routing config changes, IPsec tunneling, firewall rules, route rules etc.
- Must be able to install, configure, manage, and support for Palo Alto Firewalls, CISCO IPS, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASAs, Nexus, with strong experience in MPLS, VRF, VPN, and network routing
- Exhibit broad knowledge and hands on experience of Routing & Switching (L2/L3, MAC, ARP, ICMP, HSRP/VRRP, VXLAN, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS), Security (Firewalls, Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks), Storage and Load Balancer (F5, Array).
- Maintain Network and Security Standards, Configuration Compliance, Patch management, Cert review, and Roadmap planning
- Document and articulate proposed solutions to technical peers, service stakeholders, and senior management.
- Adhere to Change Control policy requirements and availability mandates/requirements.
- Work a flexible schedule allowing network maintenance during off-peak hours (late evening and weekend work as necessary).
- Help to support and implement Cloud Networking solutions (AWS, Azure, On prem, hybrid)
You could be a great fit if you have:
- Minimum 5 years hands-on expertise in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: routers, switches, wireless access points and controllers, and monitoring applications.
- 5+ years of Cisco LAN/WAN switches and routers (Nexus 9K, 6K, 5K, Fabric, Catalyst 9K, 6K and 4K, ISRs).
- 3+ years Palo Alto Networks Firewalls experience
- 3+ years of Proxy experience preferably but not limited to Forcepoint
- 3+ years of experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud network design, connectivity and management for example AWS, Azure, Google/ GCP, etc.
- 3+ years of experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi, NSX-T, VMC, etc.)
- Understanding of QoS and traffic management methodologies
- Strong functional knowledge of Wireless network support and best practices
- Advanced knowledge of tunneling protocols (VXLAN, GRE, Geneve, NVE, etc.)
- Knowledge of advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP, IS-IS, MPLS, etc.)
- Strong experience with Unix based operating systems
- Programming and Scripting for automation: Perl. Ruby/Python, etc.
- Experience with scripting or automation and datacenter design Python preferred but must demonstrate knowledge in a scripting or compiled language.
- Experience with automation systems, framework design/use and deployment.
- Experience developing and deploying SDN solutions at scale.
- Demonstrated ability to implement large scale projects independently
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, written and presentation skills with the ability to comfortably communicate with various levels of management and customers
