ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Understands a wide range of cutting-edge commercial technologies such as AI, Blockchain, Modern Development paradigms
    • Work with the emerging tech team to understand a market area and define a solution.
    • Lead the development of research and analysis and turn it into written documents for internal use
    • Develop business case presentations
    • Work across the organization and with academia and other corporate partners.
    • Excellent written and verbal communications
    • Willingness to learn new concepts and technology and provide written analysis
    • Conducts research and analysis of complex problem spaces leveraging primary & secondary research, and turns research into user centered insights, problems and solutions
    • Actively participates in user interviews and other activities with stakeholders, SMEs
    • Demonstrate the ability to partner with various stakeholders and business partner groups
    • Contributes (and may lead) discussions, working sessions, and workshops through active planning, collaboration, strong questioning, action items, and sharing knowledge
    • Embodies the mindset of an innovator e.g. curiosity, tenacitiy, collaboration, flexibility, creativity, comfort with ambiguity, problem solving
    • Continuously learn through self-study, engagement with the innovation community, and professional development opportunities (e.g. books, workshops, conferences, certifications)

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

• Strategic thinker with the ability to develop new written documents though web based research, understanding journal articles and collaborating with academics and industry experts
• Strong communication, active listening, critical thinking, and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently. Ability to work with minimal direct supervision
• Can demonstrate comfort with ambiguity and change, and introduce strong thinking, planning, and activities to identify the best solutions
• High degree of technical acumen
• Experience in a wide range of technologies
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience with status tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Rally, etc.)
• Excellent writing skills

EDUCATION, TRAINING:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent (preferred)
• Four (4) years plus of experience working with commercial technology. Equivalent experience considered.
• Working with an innovation role preferred – at an innovation consulting firm, a design firm and/or within a corporate innovation team
• Prior experience working in Startup/Incubator environment, Product Teams, Digital Agencies (Design Think/Agile), Corporate Innovation, and/or Strategy Consulting preferred
• Strong experience performing researcher and writing
• Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Work samples and/or portfolios required.
